Ms. Donna White Willis, age 66 of Pittsboro, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, September 19, 2020, at her residence.
Donna White Willis died peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, September 19 at her home in Pittsboro, NC after a courageous 4 year
battle with cancer.
Born on July 27th, 1954, Donna was the daughter of Enid Petteway White and Don Franklin White, Sr. Donna grew up in Greenville, NC and
attended Vardell Hall School for Girls in Red Springs, NC. In 1977, she graduated from Converse College and later received a Masters of
Business Administration from Georgia State University.
Donna began her career in planning and urban design in Atlanta, GA with G. Niles Bolton & Associates. She relocated to Macon, GA after her
marriage and was a devoted mom to her two children and an active member of the Junior League of Macon. She later moved to Pittsboro, NC and resumed her career with IBM before assuming an executive role at LabCorp, Inc.
Donna’s two children were her greatest joy, and she was dedicated in supporting them in all their pursuits.
She is survived by her children Ellen Larkin Willis of Pittsboro, NC; Franklin Reynolds Willis(Jena) and grandson, Jack Reynolds Willis, of Memphis, TN; sister, Lynn White Hadwin(Gary) of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Don White Jr.(Kelly) of Winston-Salem, NC; and her nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank UNC Hospital and UNC Hospice of Pittsboro for their care as well as the Sturtz and Messick families for their love and support.
