Mrs. Diana (Patterson) McLaughlin, age 68 of Sanford, NC transitioned to eternal rest on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Westfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sanford, NC.
The Obituary
Mrs. Diana McLaughlin was born on March 15, 1956, to the late Roosevelt Howard and Helen Patterson Lee. She was raised by her aunt the late Pastor Clara D. Swann and Emmanuel Swann. Diana attended Benhaven High School and graduated in 1974.
Diana was born in Harnett County, but she was a native of Lee County. Diana was sweet and had a giving spirit she would help anyway she could to anyone in need. She was a dedicated member of Moore Union Freewill Baptist Church where she served on numerous auxiliaries such as the Choir and the Kitchen committee.
Diana worked numerous jobs but her most memorable was working in the healthcare business taking care of clients and doing private care work. She loved the work she did and the people she took care of.
She was preceded in death by, her mother, Helen Patterson Lee: stepfather, Marlin Wayne Lee; father, Roosevelt Howard; one sister, Hazelene Dearman; one brother Thomas “TL” Lee; one nephew Marvin Jerome Lee.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband and the love of her life Alvin “Doe” McLaughlin; sons; Calvin Terrell McLaughlin; Alvin “Duck” McLaughlin Jr. (Eyerusalem Woldu); one daughter, Wanda Faye Witten (William) and one “goddaughter” Shanella McLean; her siblings: Marvin D. Lee (Elder Deborah), Morris B. Lee (Desser); Minister Twanna Ferguson, Rosa Bethea (Percy); Yolanda Montgomery; Shirley Mitchel (Ken); Angela Stigler (Odell); Franklin Howard Jr.; Melvin Davis (Coral); Willie Breece; Andrew Melvin (Caroline); Andre Bob; two special friends, Ann Cole and Annette Beasley; two grandchildren; “Poop Poop” and Shaleah “lil mama” and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
