Derema Lamar Williams

Ms. Derema Williams, age 73 of Sanford, North Carolina transitioned to eternal rest on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Kindred Hospital Greensboro.

The Obituary

Ms. Derema Lamar Williams known as Dee, was born October 30, 1952, to the late Waddy Ervin and Charlotte Reives Williams. On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, she departed this life at Kindred Hospital, Greensboro, North Carolina. 

Derema graduated from W.B. Wicker School in 1969. While attending W.B. Wicker School she was a thriving student and a majorette in the W.B. Wicker marching band. She worked multiple jobs ending her journey at Stanadyne Inc. currently known as Moen Inc.

Derema was a faithful member of Saint Mark United Church of God, where she once served on the usher board. Throughout her lifetime Derema enjoyed singing and sung with multiple church choirs.

Derema never met a stranger, she enjoyed meeting new people and was very outgoing. She enjoyed dancing, playing softball, cooking for family and friends and truly enjoyed her CIS and Western Movies. Also, known for speaking her mind and never lost for words.

She was preceded in death by her parents Waddy Ervin and Charlotte Reives Williams, three sisters Nannie Lou Woods, Ethel Bell Williams and Dorthy Wilson, six brothers: Monroe, Thomas, Van, James Ervin, Charlie Floyd, and Ray Williams.

She leaves many loved ones behind to cherish her memory: daughter, Eulanda Evette Whiteside (Anthony) of Richmond, Virginia; a son, David Lewis Williams of Bloom Field, New Jersey; two grandchildren: David Lewis Conley of Washington, DC; Kristian Jalen Whiteside of Richmond, Virgina; three sisters: Elnora Spruill of Sanford, North Carolina, Patsy Murchison (Buster) of Sanford, North Carolina and Dianne Chalmers of Durham, North Carolina; a special niece Janice Bristow of Sanford, North Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and a multitude of friends.
