Deacon Michael Anthony Williams age 66 of 3589 Carbonton Rd., Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at his residence.
Mr. Michael Anthony Williams was born January 2, 1955, in Darby, Pennsylvania to Ralph and Gloria Settles Williams.
Michael graduated from Simon Gratz Highschool in Philadelphia, PA. If you knew Mike, you knew he loved these three things: sports, fishing, and music. He was a big sports fan, who was very devoted to the Philadelphia Eagles. In his youth, he played and coached a variety of recreational sports. He was also an avid fisherman. Mike could be found on the creek bank on any given day. He was also a music connoisseur. He had a huge and eclectic collection of music. Mike not only loved listening to music, but he also loved singing and playing the keyboard.
Michael loved being a husband. He adored and cherished his wife. They were the wind beneath each other’s wings.
He also was devoted to and loved his family; he had a big spirit, loved many, and was loved by many. He will always be remembered as “Dad, Granddaddy, or Uncle Mike.”
Mike was employed with Lee County Public Schools for over 25 years; he was much loved by the students, faculty, and staff. He was a faithful and active member of Works for Christ under the leadership of Dr. Lewis Hooker and Alice Hooker, where he sung in the Men’s choir and served on the Deacon board.
Michael transitioned from his earthly home on Sunday, November 28, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Williams; his daughter, Stephanie Quick McLean; and his brother Raymond Williams.
Left to cherish his memories and celebrate his life is the love of his life for over 43 years, his wife Dora Williams; his children whom he treasured: Quince Quick (Angela) and Marcus Williams (April). His mother Gloria Williams.
His siblings: Calvin Williams, Tammy Carter (Harold), Beverly Williams, and Stephanie Williams all of Philadelphia, PA.; an aunt, Loretta Moss-Ward of Philadelphia, PA; eighteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a special niece Tiffany Webb of Philadelphia, PA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
