Darrelle O'Brian "OB" Gunter

Mr. Darrelle O'Brian Gunter, age 37 of Sanford NC, transitioned into eternal rest on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Genesis Health Care in Mt. Olive, NC.

Darrelle O’Brian Gunter “OB” transitioned to his heavenly place on July 23,2021. OB was 37 years old.

He was welcomed into this world on December 24, 1983 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to Medena Gunter and Darryl Trapp.

In his youth, he loved to play sports. He played basketball for Moncure Elementary and Football for Hale Forestry 49ers. Throughout his adulthood he worked several jobs. He attended Northwood High and Lee Senior High. He enjoyed spending time with his family playing cards, listening to music, and cooking. He thought he was “Chef Boy OB.”

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Shirley Gunter and James and Ann Trapp; aunt, Dianah   Stewart; brother-in-law, PJ Johnson; and a special godmother, Faye Lassiter.

He leaves his memories with his mother and father, Medena Gunter (William) and Darryl Trapp; one daughter, Kenya Gunter “Sunshine”; one brother, Reginald Gunter; two sisters, Preosha Johnson & Teliah Tabon; six nieces, Zhaliah, Mariah, London, Kyliah, Chloe and Ava; two nephews, Jayvier and Joaquin; three uncles, Thomas Stewart (Janet), Jeremy Trapp, Walter Trapp (Yolanda); two aunts, Veronica and Nita Gunter; forever in his heart Sheena Royal and his two godsons, KJ and Javi; special friends /cousins that was the left to his right, Chase Lee, Tony Harrington “Man”, Justin Trapp and MaKisha Harris. He was loved by many other family and friends.
