Mr. Daniel Fitzgerald Scurlock, age 60, of Pittsboro, NC entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at his residence.

The Obituary

Daniel Fitzgerald Scurlock was the youngest of two children of the late Fred William Scurlock and the late Marjorie A. Scurlock. He was born on October 23, 1964, in Bronx, New York.

Daniel was a man full of life and always willing to help a family member or a friend in a time of need. He had a gift for repairing and restoring cars; his family meant the world to him. Daniel’s life came to a peaceful end after battling cancer. His final days were spent at home with his loving wife and family.

In 1978, Daniel attended Walter High School in the Bronx. He enjoyed playing basketball, tennis, and football in his early years. Daniel was baptized at Grace Gospel Church in the Bronx, where he served as a Junior Sunday School teacher. Daniel also loved life through music, dancing, taking trips with his wife, driving Uber, and entertaining family and friends. He was a St. Matthew AME Zion Church member in Pittsboro, serving on the trustee's board, male chorus, and honorary usher.

His biggest hobby was building and racing model cars. He was also a die-hard New York Giants and Yankee fan until the end. He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Janet Scurlock.
They moved to Pittsboro in 1999. He retired from 3M after 20 years of service.
Daniel was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and godfather loved by many.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of twenty-five years, Janet Scurlock; children, Danielle Scurlock, Sico Erthridge, Tiffany Wells, Timothy Webb, Kizzy Watson, and Racheal Johnson; five grandchildren, Dylan Scurlock Leak, Dream Scurlock Leak, Alphonse Gonzalez (Monicah), Jen’Esis Gunn-Johnson, and Zaire Watson. His loving sisters Sheila Scurlock and Brenda Headen; a host of godchildren, Brent, Melly, Aaron, Micah, Tina, Trinity, and Mo; and special friends, The Brick Crew, Stanley Watson, and Victor Harrington.
