Dan taught many students, young and old, how to play the piano. Dan also enjoyed writing poetry and playing with the bell ringers in Pittsboro. He cherished the medals he won at the Senior Citizen games in Pittsboro.
Dan was educated at Horton High School in Chatham County. He graduated in the class of 1965.
