Mr. Crinford Leak was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He departed this life on January 3, at Moore Regional Hospital.
Mr. Leak was born March 30, 1935, in Dunn NC to Mr. & Mrs. Willie Leak. Born an identical twin, he and his brother were lovingly nicknamed “Big and “Little”. Surrounded by a large family with several siblings, the family was essential and significant. After receiving his secondary education from W. B. Wicker High School, he ventured to New York. During this visitation, Little was smitten by a young vixen. He met and married Nellie Wesson and to their union, there were four children. Little’s professional life was successful as a result of hard work, his unparalleled work ethic, and his kind heart. He initially began working as a textile worker in New York. His business prowess, financial intuitiveness, and saving strategies propelled his decision to move back to NC with a plan for a successful future. Once returning, he began establishing his roots. He began a successful career with Carnes as a Machine Operator, bought a home, joined Jonesboro AME Zion Church, and became very active with the ministry and within the community. Upon retirement from Carnes, he had already started a business. He successfully started and ran several businesses until His health began to decline.
He maintained a balanced lifestyle; always caring and sharing his time, home, and attention with family and those in need. Family gatherings were an essential element in the unity that he shared and promoted. These loving virtues were synonymous with his character and will always be remembered by those who knew him best.
