Mr. Christopher Jeffrey Perry, age 50 of Martinsville, VA, and formerly of Moncure, NC, transitioned to eternal rest Friday, May 24, 2024.
Christopher joined Mt. View AME Zion Church at a young age and was a part of the Buds of Promise. He attended Northwood High School and was a Master Mason in the Grand Stewards Lodge of Charity of the State of Louisiana and Jurisdiction, Thomas Lodge #76.
Chris ventured out to reside in different states, such as Shreveport, LA, where he managed a furniture store, to Dallas, Texas, where he worked as a Chef for the Dallas Cowboy Stadium, and Apex, NC, where he worked as a warehouse operator. Chris was attending Refuge Temple in Martinsville, VA. Chris was currently employed at Ply-Jem in Martinsville, VA. He loved his new job and new friends. Martinsville, VA, is where he also met his special lady, Ms. Kimberly Mosely, who became his fiancé. The Dickerson Family loved and accepted Chris as their own. Martinsville, VA became his happy place.
Chris loved nature. His hobbies included cooking, boating, fishing, hunting, gardening, remodeling, and working on projects in general. Although he lived in Virginia, he often returned home to visit his family and friends in the Que.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Jerome Thompson and Teresa Perry Laster; grandparents, Ernest and Rebecca Perry, and Jasper and Vonell Thompson.
Cherishing his memories are his children, Alyiah Harrington of Laurinburg, NC, Joydan Wellman of Wilson, NC, Joesph Covington of Raleigh, NC, Kashyia Perry, Caden Thomas of Dallas, TX, and Cameron Jones of Shreveport, LA ; sisters, Tara Perry (Larry) of Moncure, Ashley McLeod of Pittsboro, NC, and Asia Murchison of Sanford, NC; brother, Torrey Perry of Moncure; stepfather, Quentin Laster of Moncure, NC; aunts, Ramona Futrell (Jesse) of Durham NC, Cora Edwards (Vincent) and Claudia Alston (Frederick) both of Sanford NC, Vanessa Totton of Siler City, NC, Oma Chalmers of Bennett, NC, Shelby Crutchfield of Goldston, NC and Bertha Brooks of NY; uncles, Jasper C. Thompson Jr. (Willie Mae) of Bear Creek, NC, and Eddie Thompson of Siler City, NC, LA; eight nieces; one nephew; best friends since childhood, Johnny Mac, Vincent Gunter “Crab”, and Kenny Alston; best friends, Courtney Gunter “Puddy”, Jason Gibson of VA, and first cousin Shawn Totten of Siler City, NC.
