Mrs. Chanel Monique (Holmes) Foushee, age 39, of Sanford, North Carolina, entered eternal rest on Monday, August 18, 2025, at her residence.
The Obituary
Chanel Monique Foushee, affectionately known as “Nelly”, “Nelly Belly”, “Tink”, “Champ”, or “NaNa”, was born on July 3, 1986, in Harlem, NY to Lesa McLeod and George W. Harris. On August 18, 2025, God called her home to eternal rest.
From an early age, Chanel had a kind and generous spirit. Though she did not have an active church home, Chanel often visited Rock City Church until her health declined. Chanel accepted Christ at a young age and often reminded her loved ones just how good He was, even in her hard times.
Chanel attended Lee County High School and later pursued a career in hospitality. Her caring spirit landed her a role in management, doing what she enjoyed immensely.
Chanel was a girly girl. You would never catch her without her hair and nails done, or her eyelashes off. She would always keep a pocketbook full of smell goods and a candle lit somewhere. Chanel will forever be remembered for her feisty attitude, caring heart, and giving spirit. Chanel has supported multiple people in her family throughout her life, including helping to raise 4 of her nieces and nephews-- Nevaeh, Joseph, Jamarie, and Jaziel.
On May 19th, 2016, Chanel was united in holy matrimony to Joshua Foushee. Josh describes his union to Chanel as “a bomb good marriage.” He will forever remember his wife as a great baker, a “heck of a good” cook, and a great wife.
Chanel was preceded in death by her father George W. Harris, maternal grandparents James and Evelyn Miller, paternal grandfather George L. Harris, her uncle Daryl “Black” Gidron, a close cousin, Jason Langston, mother-in-law, Patricia Foushee; and father-in-law, James Foushee
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Joshua Foushee; mother, Lesa McLeod (Michael); two brothers, Tyrell Holmes and Jamel Harris; two sisters, Jasmine Quick and Dominique Holmes; a special cousin, ShaDawn Bowman; three step-brothers, Michael Watson, Jerelle Watson, and Antonio Watson; one step-stepsister, Ebony Watson; and a host of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, James Foushee, Mark Foushee, Dwight Foushee, Patrick Foushee and Scott Foushee; cousins, and dear friends, who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
