Catherine Elizabeth Strunks

Catherine Elizabeth Strunks was born December 13, 1987 and went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2022, after courageously and gracefully fighting a yearlong battle with cancer. She will forever be known for her smile, genuine friendship, and strong faith in the Lord. She never once gave up on receiving her healing, now she has received the ultimate healing.

Catherine graduated from Lee County High school in 2006 and was a proud member of the Marching Yellow Jackets for 4 years and continued being a part of the band by coming back every year and helping with the annual Brick Capital band competition.

Catherine graduated with her bachelor's degree from Mars Hill University in 2012 where she was a sister of Sigma Alpha Iota Fraternity and fostered her love of music.

Catherine was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ralph Strunks Sr. and Nancy Young Strunks Camden; her maternal grandparents, Lucian Cooley and Laurabel Adams Cooley.

She is survived by her parents, Ralph “Ed” Strunks and Sadie Cooley Strunks; brother, David, and wife, Brittany Strunks of Sanford, North Carolina; sister, Jessica Strunks of Sanford, North Carolina, and the joy of her life her nephews, Caisyn, Brayden and Devan; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
