Ms. Catherine (Williams) Page, age 96, of Pittsboro, NC, transitioned to eternal rest on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at UNC Hospital Hillsborough in Hillsborough, NC.
Catherine was the first-born child of Edward Williams and Emma Strayhorn on December 23, 1928, in Chatham County, NC.
Catherine was a woman of deep faith, unwavering love, and quiet strength. She believed in caring for the people she loved and in doing everything with purpose. Her love for Christ guided everything she did, and she lived out her faith not just in words but in how she treated others. Her wisdom was steady, her presence comforting, and her love fierce and unconditional. She built lasting bonds everywhere she went, and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
She was educated in the Chatham County Schools. She was a devoted member of Haw River Baptist Church holding various positions including Choir member, Head of Kitchen Committee and Cleaning Committee.
She is survived by her brother, Larry Williams, four children: Marjorie Byrd, Dianne Collins (Michael), Stanley Watson (Doretha), and Vernon Watson. She was blessed to have a long lineage that includes 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends whom she loved dearly.
Also, a special recognition of her dear friend, Mrs. Priscilla Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Page; nine siblings: Robert Williams, Sarah Williams, Annie Williams (twins), Clarence Lee, John Williams, Nannie Parker, David Williams, Margie Williams, Colleen Williams, and Marie Gattis: five children; Christopher, James, John, Kenneth, and Glenn Watson. She was also preceded in death by six grandchildren: Christopher, LaTosha, Faye, LaTessica, Phillip, and Jeremy.
