Caroline Akinosho Obituary

Mrs. Caroline Folasade (Ogundipe) Akinosho, age 68, of Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Monday, April 10, 2023, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC.

The Obituary

Caroline Folasade Akinosho went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 10th, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt. Caroline was born on January 21, 1955, as the 4th of 7 children, in Ede, Nigeria but considered Ogbomosho her hometown. Caroline was a lifelong learner. She attended the Federal School of Science where she achieved her GCE O&A levels (United Kingdom). She then earned her degree in Biochemistry from the University of Ife. Later, she completed a Masters-equivalent to practice as a Medical Laboratory Scientist from the University College Hospital in Ibadan, Nigeria. Caroline worked for over 40 years in the healthcare industry and retired in 2021. While not working or helping raise a family, she served in the ministry alongside her husband, where she touched many lives through the gospel of salvation.

Caroline had an infectious smile and a sense of humor that would light up a room. She gave selflessly, and would never hesitate to give the coat off her back to a stranger. Caroline was always content in the simple and thus wanted not. One of her crowning achievements was the four high-achieving children she and her husband were able to raise. Her most defining feature, however, was her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. She was known as a prayer warrior to all those who encountered her. She had the gifts of Faith and Service that were enduring, boundless, and without ceasing; even in the face of illness. Caroline never asked unless she cared. She never gossiped and could never be found speaking ill of another. She spoke calmly and gently – and insistently when needed, as any good mother and wife would. If you gave her a task, she would complete it 10-fold. To be loved by Caroline, was to be cared for, prayed for, and cheered for.

She is survived by her loving husband, Reverend Mark Akinosho; 4 children Matthew, Mark, Kitan, and Joseph; granddaughter, Ava; and her siblings Funke, Yetunde, Ayo, and Bose.
