Carl "Joel" Tyson, age 64 of Indianapolis, Indiana entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 13, 2020.

Carl Joel Tyson was born on December 4, 1955 to the late Reverend Theodore Tyson Jr. and Lula Headen Tyson of Goldston , NC. Joel attended North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina after graduating high school and later joined the United States Navy.

He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters: Tonya Dowdy of Sanford, NC and Natashia Edwards (Timothy) of Bear Creek, NC; his mother, Lula Headen Tyson of Goldston, NC; three grandchildren, Malika Harris, of Sanford NC, Joshua Edwards of Bear Creek, NC and Tai’liyah Edwards of Bear Creek NC; three great-grandchildren, Javien Davis, Teigen Mclean and Amina Edwards; one brother, Theodore Tyson (Omega), Huntsville, Alabama and one sister, TeJuana Tyson Winchester of Charlotte NC; one uncle, William Tyson (Mildred), Anthony Boyd a Forever Friend of Indianapolis, IN, a caring extended family in Indiana who assisted him over the years and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will remember him for his contagious smile and dimples.
