Carl William Harris, Sr.

Mr. Carl William Harris, Sr., age 73, of Graham, NC entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at his residence.

 On March 12, 2025 the Lord decided it was time to call our beloved Carl Harris, Sr. home to rest from his labor. Carl was born March 23, 1951, to Lenoris Baldwin and the late Red Gattis.

Carl accepted Christ as his Savior. He was a member of St. John United Holy Church where in the early years he sang with the Son of The Golden Travelers and later worked as a Trustee. Carl had a heart of gold.

Carl was educated in the Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools. The Ultimate Jack of All Trades, Carl worked with his hands first as a cement finisher for the Thomas Harris Concrete Company and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and later he worked for the Jones Funeral Home. But the work he loved most was to do things with his hands, gardening, out in the yard or caring for his animals.

He was preceded in death by his only son, Carl Harris, Jr.

Carl will be missed especially by those he leaves to cherish his memory; his wife of 54 years, Frances Louise Harris. He will be sorely missed by his daughters, Carolyn (Johnathan) and Tracy. His mother, Lenoris Baldwin. Brothers, Chris Baldwin and Charles Farrington and sisters Gwen Gattis, Mattie Burnette. Four sisters- in- law, Linda K. Brooks (Robert), Janie Miles, Felicia Atwater and Gloria Cole and one brother-in-law, James Stanley Council. A grandson raised in the home, Gregory Harris, eight additional grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of family and friends. A godmother, Frances Peggy Ingram.
