Calvin Leon Chesney (Big Cal) age 56 of Fayetteville, NC transitioned to eternal rest on Monday, July 1, 2024, at UNC Rex hospital in Raleigh, NC.
Calvin Leon Chesney, son of the late Woodrow (Woody) and Mary (Fat) Chesney was born December 4, 1967, in Sanford, NC. Calvin was the third of six children but was often known as the big brother.
Calvin had a very strong love for his family and friends and would go great depths to ensure that his family and friends had their needs and their wants. Calvin had a great big heart and was a great friend to many.
Calvin loved hard and touched the hearts and lives of many.
Calvin was known for his love of sports he was a die-hard fan of WWE wrestling, NC State Wolfpack, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Calvin would often cheer for the underdog just to have a good sports debate going in this house. Calvin was the family domino and spades champion (everybody wanted to be his partner). Calvin was also the family grill master and fish fryer.
Calvin joined Poplar Springs A.M.E. Church at an early age; during his membership he was a member of the Male Chorus and was the Assistant Sunday School Superintendent. Calvin had his very own and personal relationship with God.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, (Woodrow and Mary), sister, (Debra), brothers, (Mike and Adam) and his son, (Jalen).
Calvin leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Janet Chesney; five daughters, Kaitland and Desire Pendleton, Tiffany Holeman (Brandon), Alicia Pendleton, Vanessa Pizzitola; two very special grandchildren which he raised as his very own Jaden and Truth; eleven other grandchildren which he loved dearly, Malachi, Bentley, Sophia, Carter, Uriah, Isaiah, Izabella, Monty, Taliyah, Christopher, Kenneth; four brothers, Rhent (Lavelle), Lester, Wallace, and Vince; sister, Tammy; and three very special cousins that Calvin considered his Godchildren and raised as his very own, Brandy, Jeremy (JP) and Tavaris; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts (one special aunt, Ruby Jean that he had to have a weekly call with) cousins and friends that Calvin loved whole heartedly.
Calvin’s love for his family and friends was felt by each and every one and will forever be.
