Mr. Calvin Eunice Chalmers, age 90 of 667 Walter Waddell Ln., Sanford, NC passed on Monday, October 1, 2018 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital.
Calvin was born in Harnett County to the late Henry Chalmers and Pearl McDougald Chalmers. After a sudden illness Calvin died at Moore Regional Hospital with his devoted family by his side. He took his final rest early on the morning of Monday October 1, 2018. Calvin touched the lives of many with his smile and generosity; he maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. He was 90 years old and a real Patriarch to his family. He was the last living son of sixteen children.
At a young age he moved to Ohio and married Rosella Barns, from this marriage there was one son born, Calvin Eugene Chalmers. He later moved back home to Harnett County and married Katherine Cameron, and from this marriage he had another son, Ricky Eunice Chalmers. After his wife Katherine passed away he married Margaret Hailey and two children, Denise McLaughlin Green and a devoted son whom he gave his heart to Jeffery L. McLaughlin.
He worked at Hallman Foundry for seventeen years, and then at East Lee Middle School until he retired.
Calvin meant a lot to so many people. Once again he was The Patriarch of the Chalmers Family and a Pillar in his community. Take your rest Calvin Eunice Chalmers job well done.
Preceding him in death was his fifteen siblings; wife, Katherine Cameron Chalmers and two sons, Calvin and Ricky Chalmers.
He leaves to cherish his memories his dear devoted son, Jeffery L. McLaughlin and his wife, Linda and their son, Tyshaun all from the home place; his daughters: Vickie Mckeithan (granddaughter whom he raised as his daughter) of Sullivan Waldorf MD, and Denise McLaughlin Green (Edward); sister in law, Evelyn Chalmers of Raleigh NC; a devoted niece, Margaret Chalmers Mosley and her husband, Alphonso of Vass NC; special nephews, Ronnie Chalmers (Almaria) and Eugene McNeil (Linda); two special friends, Margaret Hailey from the home place and Rosella Barns from Cleveland Ohio; a dear friend until the end Mr. June Bug Pulley from the home place and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
