Mrs. Brenda Ann (Turner) Williams-Price, age 78 of Durham, NC entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at her residence.
Brenda Ann Turner Williams-Price was born August 12, 1945, to the late Hubert James Turner and Mae Goldston Turner Marsh. She departed her life on October 14, 2023, at her home in Durham NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert James Turner and Mae Goldston Turner Marsh; brothers, Galileo Turner, James Hurley Turner, and Christopher Turner.
Mrs. Price was a member of Roberts Chapel Baptist Church and of Eastern Stars chapter #379 of Durham, NC. She attended and graduated from Chatham County Schools and Durham Business College.
She worked as an administrative assistant at NC Mutual Insurance Company for over forty years and was the secretary for the head football coach at NCCU for fourteen years. Brenda also worked part-time as a bus driver for sixteen years for Durham County Schools, sold Princess House Crystal for ten years, and at Belk for seven years.
Brenda enjoyed working in her yard and loved everyone that she came in contact with. She wasn’t into sports as she didn’t want her boys hurt because in her words, “I would knock somebody out if they hurt them”. But she learned to enjoy them as her boys grew up playing them, and they would tell her if I get hurt don’t you come down on the field. Brenda also drag-raced and won several races over men including our father.
Mrs. Price is survived by her husband, Larry Price of Siler City NC; sons, Billy Williams, Jr. of Little River, SC, Kenyart Williams of Durham, NC; special daughter, Sherry Combs of Jonesville, NC; stepsons, Justin Price (Moneisha) of Winston Salem, NC, Johnathan Price (Crystal) of Thomasville, NC; grandchildren, Brendan Williams, Kayla Williams, and Kylie Williams all of Wake Forest, NC; step-grandchildren, Jalen Price, Jayshaun Price, and Makenna Price all of Winston Salem, NC, Angel Price and Mariah Price of Thomasville, NC; sister, Janice Bentley of Lizella, GA; sisters-in-law, Emma Turner of Goldston, NC, Lisa Turner of Siler City, NC; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
The family would like to especially thank Lauren, Lori, Jennifer, Callie, Joyce, Delphine, and everyone from Hospice for the love and care shown to Brenda during her sickness.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to Roberts Chapel Church in her memory.
The family will be receiving family and friends at the home from 12noon - 8pm on Wednesday and Thursday and on Friday from 12noon - 2pm.
