I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me on that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
Mr. Bobby Lee McBride, Jr. was born in Lee County, NC to the late Mr. Bobby Lee McBride, Sr. and Betty Johnson.
He attended W.B. Wicker and Sanford Central High School.
Bobby was a retired construction worker from Sanford Construction. He attended various churches.
Bobby was a great husband, father, grandfather, son, nephew, and friend. He was an avid fisherman and card player. He had so many special friends that he loved, and they loved him. He loved old music and loved to tell jokes that kept you laughing but he was stern when he needed to be.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Fletcher McBride; grandparents, Mr. Prince and Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson; one daughter, Tasha Alston; and one brother-in-law, James Lewis Alston.
Bobby leaves to mourn and cherish his memories his wife, Sarah Alston McBride; three sons, Bobby Marques McBride (Jessica), James “Jay” Alston (Carla), and Darrick Alston, Sr.; mother, Betty Johnson; one brother, Maurice Wilson (Paula); one sister, Helen “Poo” Crawford; two uncles, Gordon and Johnnie Johnson; two aunts, Annie Burch and Elder Joyce Jackson; four sisters in laws, Patricia Alston, Delores Somerville (Raymond), and Patricia Rollins, all of Sanford, NC, and Marquetta Scott of Dayton, OH; a special grandson (fishing partner), Jordan Alston; a special aunt in law, Debra Faye Paige(Carl); special cousins, Mack Jackson, Tara Hooker, and Trina Donaldson; special friends, Jimmy Cline and David Harrington; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
