Billy Clarence Williams

Mr. Billy Clarence Williams, age 76 of Durham North Carolina transitioned into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, in Durham North Carolina.

The Obituary

Billy Clarence Williams was born to the Late Blanche Womble Williams- Mezeke and Willie Williams, on April 30, 1945. He departed his life on April 26, 2022, at Durham Regional Hospital, Durham, North Carolina.

He joined Reaves Chapel AME Church, Goldson, North Carolina at an early age. He also joined New Beginnings Christian Fellowship, where he became Deacon, under the Overseer Curtis Poole in Durham, North Carolina where he remained a member until his passing.

He Graduated from J.S. Waters Public High School in Goldston, North Carolina in 1963.  He also graduated from Bull City Barber College in Durham, North Carolina in 1965. He married Brenda Ann Turner and to this union, two sons were born, Billy C. Williams Jr., and Kenyart A. Williams.

He owned Billy Williams Hairstyling on Roxboro Road, Durham NC for many years where he styled doctors, lawyers, sportswriters, professional educators, friends, neighbors, and the public hair.

He raced a 1966 Ford Mustang all over North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee for many years.  His special and final request was to ride down Piedmont Dragway in Greensboro, NC, and to be buried in the cemetery where his mother was buried.

He is survived by his sons, Billy Jr. and Kenyart, sisters, Blanchie Mae Morgan, Cora Elizabeth Hanner, brothers Bobby Williams and Jerry Williams (Diana), grandchildren, Brendan E. Williams, Kayla A. Williams, and Kylie E. Williams. several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Special Friend Ms. Barbara Hennaforth.  

We would like to acknowledge his Pastor Curtis Poole and several Racing Competitors and friends Donnie and Bonnie Moore, Danny Hamlin, Jimmy Spell, Jimmy Perry, Mike Boyles, Billy Bullock, and the late Steve Taylor, the late Ronnie Wilson, and the late Tim Newman.
