It is with heavy hearts that we remember Mr. Billie Lee Ceasar, affectionately known as “Bill” to his family and friends. Born in Mount Airy, North Carolina, Bill was the cherished second child of Mr. Marion Ceasar and Ollie Brown Ceasar.
Bill was a gentle soul who often spoke little but communicated volumes through his kind actions. His loving nature shone through his warm smile and simple conversations. Regardless of his own feelings, he had a remarkable way of reassuring everyone around him with his classic response: “I’m alright.”
He pursued his education in West Southern Pines before moving to New York for work, where he spent many years building his life. In his later years, Bill returned to North Carolina, where he was embraced by a caring and supportive family and community. He will be truly missed for his love of fishing, gardening, and Bingo, as well as his witty sense of humor.
Bill is preceded in death by his beloved father, Marion Ceasar; his devoted mother, Ollie Brown Ceasar; his loving wife, Ola Ceasar; his brother-in-law, John Fleming; his dear sister, Frances Ceasar; his brother, Jim Ceasar; and his son, Jeffrey Ceasar. Their absence will be profoundly felt.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, including one daughter, Sonya Ceasar of New Jersey; one sister, Mai Ceasar-Fleming Holland of Cameron, North Carolina; one brother, Floyd Ceasar of Sanford, North Carolina; a remarkable niece, Yasha Fleming of Cameron, North Carolina, who selflessly cared for Bill and attended to all of his needs; one grandson; six nieces; eleven nephews; many cousins; and a host of friends; and loved ones, who will carry his spirit with them. Our hearts go out to all who knew and loved him, as we honor and celebrate the life of this gentleman who touched so many lives.
