Betty Margaret (Ellerby) Stackhouse

Ms. Betty Margaret Ellerby Stackhouse, age 94 of Sanford, NC was born in Lee County, NC on September 19, 1927, to the late Dick and Molly C. Ellerby. She transitioned into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Sanford Health and Rehab in Sanford, NC. 

Betty was raised in Lee County until she met the love of her life, Herbert Stackhouse. They were united in holy matrimony. To this union they raised nine children, three of which preceded her in death; Herbert Jr., Betty Jean, and Trumiller.

Ms. Betty was affectionately called many names by her children: "Ma and Mama". "Hun" was her nickname given to her by her older siblings when she was a child.

She was preceded in death by her older siblings: Lou Harriet, Annie, Nanny, Mary, Willie, Tommy, Raymond, and Leroy.

Ms. Betty leaves to cherish her memories her children, Tommy, Wade (Patricia), Larry, Annie (who was her mother's little angel), Robert, and Inez (Paul); one daughter-in-law, Sarah; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; two special granddaughters, Shelly and Genie and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
