Betty Belton

Betty Belton, age 71 of 90 Reedy Lane, Sanford, NC passed on Friday, August 9, 2019 at her residence.

Mrs. Betty Lou McDougald Belton took her Heavenly rest on Friday, August 09, 2019. She was born on April 02, 1948 in Harnett County North Carolina to the late Preston James and Queen Isabelle Walker McDougald.

Betty Lou was educated in Harnett County School system. Betty was very passionate about cooking and she really enjoyed feeding her family. She also enjoyed nursing her flowers and took extreme pleasure in landscaping and gardening.

Betty Lou always had the best sense of humor. She was known for keeping everyone laughing. Just as the roots are the life in the tree, Betty was the lifeline/glue to the McDougald family.

Betty was preceded in death by her son, Dennis McDougald; her parents, Preston & Isabelle McDougal; eighteen brothers and five sisters.

Betty Lou leaves to cherish her loving memories: her husband, James Belton; five sons: William Stewart, Tom Fredrick, Lee Fredrick, Mark Fredrick (Celeste Humes), and Eric Fredrick (Angelica Aponte); three daughters: Brenda Fredrick –Miller, Katrina Fredrick (Elijah Speller) and Cassie Fredrick; her siblings: four brothers, Preston, Floyd, Jeremiah, and Elbert McDougald; four sisters: Mildred (Charlie) Goldston, Bernice Cole, Rosa Lee Clemons (Walter), and Patricia McRae (John); two sisters in law: Barbara Johnson, and Martha Belton; one brother in law: Joseph Battle; two special grandchildren, Amarion McIver and Santana Fredrick; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friend.
