The Obituary

Bettina Watson Seymoure, a proud and lifelong resident of Sanford, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025. Born in Lee County to the late George and Bettye Watson.
Bettina remained deeply rooted in the community that helped shape her remarkable life.

A graduate of Sanford Central High School, Bettina exemplified strength, compassion, and unwavering devotion to family and faith. For 43 years, she shared a loving and steadfast marriage with her husband, Ronald (“Ronnie”) Seymoure. Together, they built a legacy of love and raised three devoted children: Geoffrey (Nancy), Latitia, and Tiffany (Anthony).

Bettina was the heart of her family—a deeply cherished grandmother to Geoffrey Jr., Kyra, George, Sheron, Serenity, Jahleel, Jameer, and Elijah. Great grandmother to Aloura. Her warm smile, nurturing presence, and quiet strength made every gathering brighter and left an unforgettable mark on all who knew her.

A faithful member of New Zion Baptist Church throughout her life, Bettina found purpose and peace through her spiritual walk. Her faith was her foundation, and it shaped the way she loved,
supported, and uplifted others.

Bettina’s joy for life extended beyond her family and faith. She delighted in traveling, expressing herself through arts and crafts, and indulging in a little shopping—finding beauty and meaning in
everyday moments. From the streets of Paris to the cliffs of the Grand Canyon, her adventurous spirit carried her far and wide, always returning home with stories, laughter, and love.

She was blessed with enduring friendships, most especially her best friend, Janice (JB), and leaves behind her beloved siblings, brother, Rodney and sister, Jacqueline, along with a host of family who treasured her deeply.

Bettina’s legacy is one of unshakable love, boundless creativity, loyal service, and quiet grace. She was the backbone of our family—a guiding light whose presence can never be replaced. Though our hearts ache with her absence, we take comfort in knowing her spirit lives on in every life she touched. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered
