Bessie Jane Cox

Ms. Bessie Jane Cox, age 94, of Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at her residence in Sanford, NC.

Bessie Jane Cox was a life long resident of Sanford NC. She was born on December 26 1927 and peacefully departed this earth on May 25, 2021.

Bessie is the daughter of Bessie and Eddie Marsh.

Bessie as she was affectionately called was admired by many for her faithful service to her church as a hospitality leader. She took much pride in her culinary skills. Bessie enjoyed preparing meals for her family. Although she never had children of her own that didn’t stop her from living for the days that her nieces great nieces and nephews would play in the front yard under the pecan tree.

Bessie Jane was preceded in death by her doting husband Herman Cox, her sisters are Irma Marsh Donnell, Mildred Brewington, and Clara Darnell, her brothers Charles, Paul and Edward Marsh.

Bessie is survived by one sister, Bertha Batcher of Washington, DC; one brother, Banks Marsh of Sanford, NC and generations of nieces and nephews in Dallas Texas, Hawaii, Washington DC, White Plains Maryland, Greensboro North Carolina, Charlotte North Carolina, New York and San Diego California and a host of Friends and caregivers.
