Mrs. Bennie Dean McDonald, age 75 of Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Monday, May 16, 2022, at High-Smith Rainey Hospital in Fayetteville, NC.
Bennie Dean “Banna” McDonald, the daughter of the late Jake Benjamin “Ben” Williams and Rosie Mae Williams was born on December 6th, 1946. She grew up in Gosport, Alabama where she attended Zion Branch Church. She attended high school at Wilson Hall High School in Grove Hill, Alabama.
Bennie worked several jobs throughout her life including Magneti Marelli where she worked for 28 years before retiring.
Bennie was a kind and nurturing person who loved everyone and never met a stranger. Bennie loved the outdoors. One of her passions was fishing. Two of her other passions were growing plants and being an avid gardener. She enjoyed giving gardening advice and was always willing to share her plants. She also enjoyed visiting thrift stores and yard sales where she found many treasures to share with friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ben and Rosa Mae Williams, sisters Mary Hall and Lorance Hooper, and son Mark Anthony Laffitte.
Her beautiful life will be forever cherished by her husband of thirty-three years, Felix “Phil” McDonald and children, Philip James Williams, and Angela Laffitte, who will carry on her legacy. She is held in loving memory by her sisters: Deloris Lambert, Viola Chandler, Shirley Jones, Martha Rachel Williams, Carolyn Rigsby and Pricilla Denson. Bennie McDonald will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Nicholle Young, Timothy McKeithen, Denice Adams, Joshua Dark, and Tajaih Swann. She will also be deeply missed by three great-grandchildren: Tristan, Aaliyah, Takaih, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other loved ones.
