Beady Waddell, Jr. Obituary

Mr. Beady Bennette Waddell, Jr., 96, of Sanford, NC, entered eternal rest on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Peak Resources Pinelake in Carthage, NC.

The Obituary

Beady Bennette Waddell, Jr., was born on January 31, 1928, in Lee County to the late Beady Bennette Waddell, Sr., and Annie Reives Waddell. He had six siblings, John (deceased), William (deceased), Sylvester (deceased), Ethel (deceased), Mosel (deceased) and his baby sister, Marie Martin.

Beady was a graduate from Lee County Training School (aka W.B. Wicker). He obtained his bachelor's degree in early education from Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, NC. He furthered his education by receiving training at East Carolina as well as Central Carolina Community College. Beady was an avid educator, social worker and community leader. His leadership and service in the community often allowed him to have management roles such troop leader for boy scouts of America, supervisor at Department of Social Services and director at Blandonia Child Care Center.

He loved the Lord, Blonzie, Blandonia Presbyterian Church, and his family. Proverbs 18:16 states; "A man's gift maketh room for him and bringeth him before great men". Beady's gift of leadership, order, compassion and experience allowed him to flourish in his professional setting as well as church setting. He was a pillar in the church as he was an elder, clerk of session and wore all hats of service to ensure that the church's needs were being met.

Beady enjoyed life, laughter, and love. He was able to have true fellowship in every area of his life, whether it was playing pool with his pool partners on Sunday, fellowshipping at family gatherings (especially the holidays) or making new friends at the Enrichment Center.

Beady leaves his two daughters, Belinda and Annie; four sons, Steve (Theresa), Glenn (Angela), Beady III (Valerie), and Roderick (Alma); one sister, Marie Martin; sister-in-law, Mildred (William); and a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
