Mr. Barry Keith Womble, age 63, of Bear Creek, NC, transitioned to eternal rest on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC.

The Obituary

Barry Kieth Womble was born on June 20. 1962, in Durham, NC and departed this life on October 28, 2025. He is the son of late Albert C Allen Sr. and Doris F. Womble of Durham. NC.

He was a man of God and a faithful member of St. James Baptist Church under Sr. Pastor Bianca J. Richardson until his health declined.

Barry was a devoted husband to Edna (Louise) G. Womble and a loving, supportive and caring father to his children, Kanecia Love-Davis, Barry Keith Womble II, and his stepson, Scottie Goldston.

Barry was a hardworking man spending over 25 years working for the UNC as a Supervisor of Housekeeping. His love for the lord and his family was parallel to none.

Spending most of his time with family and friends watching sports and going to church. Most would describe him a selfless, encouraging, and supportive.

He is preceded in death by John T. Womble and Louise Womble on his mother's side, and Albert Allen Jr., Jimmie Lee Allen, Doris Bell Allen, and Earline Allen from his father's side.

Barry leaves to cherish his memory a faithful and devoted wife, Edna (Louise) G. Womble; one daughter, Kanecia Love-Davis; one son, Barry Keith Womble II; one stepson, Scottie Goldston; as well as his eldest sister, Emma-Jean Womble, loving sister, Henrietta Robinson (husband, Minster Travis Robinson), supportive brother, Willie Womble, dedicated sister, Overseer Janice Medlyn, and Quanda Womble from his mother side of the family and Joeanna Allen, Alberta Allen Daye (Husband Mark Daye Sr) Anthony Wayne Mangum Francis Mangum, and Jean Daniels from his father's side of the family and four grandchildren; a host of in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
