Mr. Anthony Morris Worrell, age 67 of Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Anthony Morris Worrell was born September 14, 1953 to the late Silas Worrell and Mary Alease Dowd Worrell in Portsmouth, Virginia. Where he lived until the passing of his mother, then moved to North Carolina where his grandmother, Mrs. Linner Dowd raised him and his siblings.
Anthony graduated from Northwood High School 1971. Then attended trucking school with the state of North Carolina. Anthony spent a lot of time working. Truly a man of many hustles. He worked at Honeywell in Moncure, NC as a warehouse inventory specialist for 35 years and then retired. After retirement he continued to work driving trucks for 20 years until his health declined. He owned his own business Worrell Sports and Prints for many years, supplying all types of clothing, shoes, cds and dvds. He was also a DJ for many occasions. He was the founder of the Togetherness social club where he hosted many community events with van and motorcycle clubs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ms. Artricia M. Hudson and brother in law, John Cross.
He leaves to cherish his memories two children; Morris Worrell and Shawntina Perry; four grandchildren: Jaylen Bethea, Laniyah Bethea, Aliyonna Bethea and Navaeh Bethea; two sisters Elder Patsy Cross and Sharon Hooker (John); one brother, Michael Worrell (Goldie); special companion, Theresa Jackson; best friends, Ricky Flowers, Reggie Cannady, Ricky Dell, and Renee Bunnell and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
