Anthony Jerod McLean

Mr. Anthony Jerod McLean, age 35 of Sanford, NC, transitioned into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Anthony Jerod McLean was born January 24, 1986 at NC Memorial Chapel Hill, NC to Lilly M. McLean and Jimmy Williams. He was called by his savior Jesus Christ (Rev. 1:17-18) and departed this life December 28, 2021 in UNC Chapel Hill, NC.

Anthony Jerod McLean affectionately known as “AJ” was born and raised in Lee County Sanford NC.   “AJ” graduated and obtained his diploma in 2005 from Lee County High School.   He began his working career in retail (Walmart 2008-2015) (LIDL 2015-2021) with both employers having great love for him with his infectious smile. He took great pride at both places he would promote them like if he was their sales rep.   AJ was truly a people person with his humongous smile and hug that told his personality.

One thing for sure, “AJ” was a Great father and he loved his three children so much that he was super protective over them.   AJ two favorite hobbies were collecting rare Hot Wheel cars and dedicated to staying fit working-out. He had a favorite fashion as well ‘Champion Gear” and he wore it well. He even dressed his whole family in that gear. AJ had several family members that had a passion and love for motorcycles.  And following in their footsteps, AJ grew his own strong love for motorcycles.   He wouldn’t ride without recording every ride on his go-pro video cam.    AJ created his own biker’s group on Facebook “Always On Go” and he had a lot of love for the biker’s community.

AJ was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Bennie and Rosa McIver McLean, paternal grandparents: Eddie B and Eva L. Williams; two uncles Wilbert L. McLean and Roy McLean; one aunt Mary McLean also a half-brother Rodney Perry.

He leaves to love and cherish his memories: children Kayanna Johnson, Zymir and Trae Mclean;  his parents: Lilly L McLean and  Jimmy L Williams; his siblings: Troy S McLean (Texas), Tyrone McLean (Florida), Ishmael McLean (Texas), Christopher K. McLean (Sanford), Joey McLean (Arizona) and sister Carmen S McLean (Raleigh); half -sister Amanda Perry; stepsisters: Niya Allen and Belinda Haskins; aunts Francis Hawkins, Hazel McLean, Carolyn Conners, and Catherine McLean; uncles George McLean and Billy McLean; mother of his sons, Kathryn Coats;  His closest cousins John Dowdy and Rocco Conners.  And a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and extended family and friends from school, work and the motorcycle community.
