Ms. Annie Ruth (Chalmers) Shaw, age 73 of Sanford, NC entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC.

Annie Ruth Chalmers Shaw of Sanford, North Carolina entered eternal rest on October 11, 2023, at the age of 73 years old. She was born on November 15, 1949, at Lee County Hospital in Sanford, North Carolina. She is the daughter of Ruby Pulley Chalmers and Eugene Chalmers of Broadway, North Carolina.

Annie grew up on a farm and went to Johnsonville High School in Harnett County. She later attended college in Concord North Carolina and was a member of First Church of Christ Disciples. She married Robert Shaw and to this union one child Cynthia.

Annie worked at Spanco for many years and also loved working at Parkview In-Home Care before her retirement.

Annie is preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Ruby Chalmers; Bobbie C. Singleton, Ruby C. Brewington, and Henry Chalmers.

Annie leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Cynthia Shaw of the home; two grandchildren, Jamir Shaw of High Point NC, and Aiyana Shaw of the home; three sisters, Veronica C. Mays (Matthew), Glenda Chalmers, and Gloria C. Boyce (Marcus); three brothers, Jimmy Chalmers, Floyd Chalmers (Shirley), and William Chalmers (Becky); and a brother-in-law William Singleton. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was the big sister to everyone and a mentor to the younger generation.

 The family will receive friends at the home of Veronica Mays, (Sister) 979 Bella Bridge Road, Broadway, NC 27505.
