Mrs. Anna Lue Cindy (King) Hallman, age 73 of Sanford, NC, entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, NC.
Anna Lue Cindy King Hallman, lovingly known as “Cindy” or “Kingfish,” was born on Friday, May 25, 1951, to the late Addie Mae McKendall King and Cleve King in Sanford, North Carolina. She peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Central Carolina Hospital.
Cindy was a warm and vibrant soul, cherished by her community and beloved for her kindness and care. She spent many years as a Certified Nurse’s Aide, dedicating her life to serving others with compassion. Employed by Keller In-Home Aide Services and Keller Retirement Home, Cindy served from the mid-1980s until her health led to her retirement in early 2010. Even in retirement,
she continued helping those in need, leaving an indelible mark on healthcare in Lee County through her dedication and nurturing spirit.
Cindy was a person of deep love and unshakable faith. Her family, friends, and all those who crossed her path felt her warmth; she never missed an opportunity to express her affection, often
offering a heartfelt “I love you” and a warm hug. A natural caregiver, Cindy delighted in sharing God’s word, spending time with children, and uplifting others with her humor and generosity.
In 2012, Cindy joined Oak Grove Holiness Church, where she was affectionately known as “Mother Hallman.” She served in many small ways that carried deep meaning, such as handing
out fans to guests and offering words of encouragement. A woman of steadfast faith, Cindy was guided by her belief in God and by the words she held dear: “My faith is all I got” and “I am
living to live again. I want to see God’s face one day.”
Cindy’s strength and resilience were nothing short of inspiring. Her battle with cancer began in 1995, and despite subsequent health challenges, she faced each one with courage, high spirits, and
unwavering faith. Her healthcare team, friends, and family were continually moved by her determination and positive outlook, which served as a testament to her strength.
Cindy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Herman Hallman; her daughter, Denise Hallman; her son, Travis Hallman, of the home; her sister, Shirley King Wilson of Lumberton, NC.
cousin, sister, and best friend, Minister Elaine Adams; brother-in-law, Richard D. Hallman; sister-in-law, Brenda D. Hallman of Sanford; lifelong friends, Ms. Beatrice “Bunny” Evans and
Ms. Geraldine Thomas, both of Sanford; and numerous other loved ones, including cousins, aunts, uncles, and cherished “phone buddies” like cousin/sister Shirley Cooper, Mother Bush, and A.J.
