Anita Tuck Obituary

Ms. Anita Louise Tuck, age 66, of Sanford, NC transitioned to eternal rest on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sanford, NC.

                                                                                            The Obituary

Anita Louise Tuck, 66, of Sanford, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on June 1, 2026, at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on August 31, 1959, in Baltimore, Maryland, Anita was the beloved daughter of Mary Agnes McIver-Tuck and the late Dallas Tuck.

Anita lived a life defined by faith, dedication, and a deep love for her family. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at Central Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., where she faithfully worshiped until relocating to North Carolina. Upon moving, she became a devoted member of Liberty Chapel Church in Moncure, North Carolina.

Throughout her life, Anita was known for her strong work ethic and her passion for driving. She spent many years as a bus and tourist trolley driver in Washington, D.C., a career she truly loved and often reminisced about. After moving to North Carolina, she continued doing what she loved, finding success as a forklift operator. Though the vehicles were smaller, her passion for driving never faded. She proudly kept the spirit of "Lady T" alive, often sharing stories from her days driving through the streets of Washington, D.C., and the many visitors she had the pleasure of guiding throughout the nation's capital. As her family fondly recalls, "We didn't always know the street name, but I promise you, we would get you there."

Anita was a woman of unwavering faith who taught those around her countless life lessons. She instilled in her family the importance of loving the Lord, being grateful for His blessings, and trusting in His plan no matter what challenges life may bring. She taught by example, showing what it meant to be a good parent, a supportive spouse, and a faithful servant of God.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, family member, and friend whose wisdom and guidance touched many lives. One of her greatest joys was supporting and encouraging her grandchildren. Even during her final year, one of the last things she shared while still able to speak was, "Make sure my grandchildren know how proud of them I am." Those words will forever remain a treasured gift to the family she loved so deeply.

When she wasn't working or spending time with family or taking care of her mother, Anita enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, Star Trek, wrestling, traveling to visit family, music, collecting teddy bears and revisiting the tour books she had collected throughout her years as a driver. Her sense of humor, determination, and caring heart will be remembered by all who knew her.

Anita leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory and honor the lessons she taught, the love she shared, and the faith she lived.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dallas Tuck, and her grandparents, William K. McIver and Lillie Bell Fox-McIver.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Tuck of Sanford, North Carolina; her son, Kenneth Tuck and daughter-in-law, Zandrea Tuck of Carthage, North Carolina; her brothers, Donald Tuck (Rhonda Tuck) of Fort Washington, Maryland, Willie Tuck (Latessa Tuck) of Waldorf, Maryland, and Dallas J. Tuck of Sanford, North Carolina; her three beloved grandchildren, Nevaeh, Riya, and Kendrea Tuck of Carthage, North Carolina; one nephew (Willie Tuck Jr (Ashley)); six nieces (Amanda Tuck, Ashley Tuck, Arecia Mickens (Devin Mickens), Andrea Tuck, Champaign Tuck and Shaterika Tuck); and a host of cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, church family and dear friends.

Though she is no longer with us in body, her legacy of faith, strength, love, and devotion lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
