Mr. Angelo Virgil Tobias Milliken, age 59 of Chapel Hill NC transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Signature Health Care in Chapel Hill, NC.
Angelo Virgil Tobias “Toby” Milliken, 59, of Chapel Hill, NC was born in Manhattan, New York on November 3, 1962, to Wade Daniel Milliken and Mary Elizabeth Alston Milliken as the first of two children.
Angelo departed this life on July 30, 2022, at Signature Health Care in Chapel Hill.
Angelo and his parents moved back to Pittsboro and nearer to family in 1963 where he grew up and lived much of his life. He attended school and other youth development programs in Chatham and Orange County, and went on to work and live in Chapel Hill as an adult. He did not realize great academic achievements or an accomplished career, but he learned very quickly and better than most the importance of family and fellowship. He looked forward to the next holiday and get-together. He was always the first to the car to go visiting and first to any dance floor at any function. He never forgot a face, a name, or a birthday and could recite either upon request. Truly, his greatest attribute was his resolve to not let his disabilities keep him from living. He loved music and had a mental musical library that was unmatched. Anyone that spent five minutes with Angelo would go away with some new knowledge of a musician, an album, or a song. Rarely acknowledged was his artistic ability and mastery with a pencil. Angelo loved drawing movie stars and kept stacks of drawings worthy of an art gallery. Angelo made the most of the life he was given, however exceptionally challenging it turned out to be. His great big laugh and fun-loving personality will be missed by his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory: father, Wade Milliken, and mother, Mary Milliken of Pittsboro, NC; brother, Naphtali Milliken; nieces, Amaya and Maliyah Milliken, of Chapel Hill, NC; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
