Ms. Alice McCrimmon, age 86 of Sanford, North Carolina transitioned to eternal rest Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford, NC.
God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So, He put His arms around you and whispered... "Come with Me"
Alice Lindsey McCrimmon, the daughter of the late Jacob and Lela Lee Lindsey, was born on May 10, 1940, in the New Hope Community of Sanford, North Carolina. Alice transitioned this earth to her heavenly home on July 5, 2026.
In the year of 1946 The Lindsey Family moved to Jones Chapel Area. The entire family worked hard to maintain the farm.
At an early age Alice became a member of Jones Chapel Church Aka Ward Memorial Church. Coming to church was a place where all the children in the community could socialize with each other. When she was a teenager the church formed a choir called, "The Jubilee". She enjoyed singing in the choir with her friends.
In 1960 Alice graduated from W B Wicker High School. After graduation Alice worked a short period at her Aunt Mary Pearl Williams's store in Asheville, North Carolina.
In January of 1961 Alice moved to Brooklyn, New York to seek employment. Alice worked in different jobs: Terminal Steam Laundry, Ma Bell Telephone Company, and Lord & Taylor Store.
In 1963 Alice married John Frank McCrimmon, from which this union was born one daughter, Valerie McCrimmon.
In 1977 Alice returned to North Carolina with her family. Alice resumed her membership at Ward Memorial Church, where she was a devoted and faithful member of The Jubilee Choir, and Missionary Society until her health declined. Alice was employed at Townsend Poultry in Pittsboro, NC for 34 years and retired in 2011.
Alice is preceded in death by her husband, John Frank McCrimmon; her daughter, Valerie McCrimmon, parents, Jacob and Lela Lee Lindsey; her brothers: Walter Lindsey, James Lee, Robert Lindsey, Jacob Lindsey Jr. and Marshall Lindsey; sisters: Ludella Lindsey, Creola McLean, Arlela Wright, EvaMae McLean, and Leola Carter.
In God's tender loving care, Alice leaves to cherish her memories: granddaughter, Eboni Welcher (Gregg) of Augusta, Georgia; grandson: Troy Brooks Jr. of Clarksville, Tennessee; great-grandchildren: Theodore R. Wilson IV, Gianna Welcher, and Gekere Welcher of Augusta Georgia, Taleia Brooks, Autumn Rose Brooks, and Tamir Brooks of Clarksville, Tennessee; siblings: Andrew Lindsey (Mary Louise), Mary Page (Haywood) of Pittsboro, NC, and Hazelene Lindsey of Sanford, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Special recognition, goddaughter, Karen Jenkins, godson, Michael Melvin and for many years of friendship extended to Carolyn Douglas.
