Ms. Aggie Mae Burgess, age 84 of Pittsboro, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the Laurels of Chatham in Pittsboro, NC.

Mrs. Aggie Mae McKinney Burgess was the daughter of the late Albert Porter McKinney and Ella Lee Deese McKinney. She was born November 17, 1937, in Monroe, NC, Union County.
She departed this life Saturday, May 21, 2022, at The Laurels of Chatham. She grew up in Monroe NC and moved to Pittsboro at the age of 8 years old. She worked for Roy Siler Dry Cleaners in Pittsboro for several years. Aggie moved to Washington, DC to work as a Housekeeper then returned to Pittsboro, NC to be with her family. She will be loved by all who knew her. She will be missed by the caretakers and the other residents at The Laurels of Chatham and UNC Hospice.
She attended Church of God in Pittsboro for many years, then attended Staunton Memorial Church CME, until her health declined.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Burgess; sister, Mary Ella McKinney, and brothers, Cleotha Porter McKinney, and Larry Albert McKinney.
She leaves to mourn and cherish her memories: two sons, James McKinney and Julius McKinney; four sisters, Pauline Brooks, Juanita McKinney, Laura Miller, and Linda McKinney of Pittsboro, NC; one sister- in- law Josephine Burgess of Siler City, NC; a special aunt, Mary Pierce Lexington, NC; grandchildren, Whitney McKinney, and Bryant McKinney of Pittsboro, NC and Jordan McKinney of Indianapolis, IN; two great-grandchildren, Matthew McKinney, and Tyler McKinney of Pittsboro, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
