Reverend Addie McCrimmon, age 102, of Sanford, NC, formerly of Cameron, NC, transitioned to eternal rest Thursday, February 19, 2026.
THE OBITUARY
Rev. Mrs. Addie Mae McGregor McCrimmon entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the home of her daughter Gracie and son-in-law, Wayburn Williams in Sanford, NC.
Addie Mae McGregor McCrimmon was born to the late George and Emily Jane Davis McGregor on September 24, 1923, in Henrico County, Richmond, VA. In 1933, at the age of ten, Addie came to live with her grandparents Henry and Suzanna Smith Davis in Cameron, NC after the death of her father and illness of her mother.
Addie attended Richmond Private Catholic School and completed high school at Pinckney High School in Carthage, NC. She later attended Sandhills Community College.
Addie had an unquestionable passion for Holiness and the Kingdom of God, admonishing all and adhering to the commands of Acts 2:38.
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
Addie answered her call to the ministry and preached her initial sermon at Green Grove AME Zion Church in June 1970 was ordained by the African Methodist Episcopal Zion denomination the same said year. She served as an AME Zion pastor for several churches over the course of 11 years, Green Grove, Oak Ridge and New Endland, all of which are under the Central North Carolina Conference.
Addie worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Cornell Dubilier, and Coty Pfizer Division. She retired from Coty in 1991 and continued to visit the sick frequently. Fasting and in home prayer vigils were on-going.
As a result of a Vision of God in November 1966, Addie established Kings Chapel Church on her property and dedicated the facility to God in December 2001. Thus, the singular mission of bringing Jesus Christ to all. Kings Chapel became a facility for new ministries and pastors who would go on to establish churches in other locations.
She is and will always be a shining example of what it means to be a “letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of human hearts.” (….as described in II Corinthians 3:3).
Rev. Addie M. McCrimmon IS and always has been a woman considerably ahead of her time.
In November 1974, Addie traveled to Israel and was so inspired by the land, history, and the Spirit of God, she published the booklet, entitled “Jesus Is for Everyone”.
Addie was united in marriage to Leroy McCrimmon. Together, they had six children: two daughters, and four sons. Four of her children; Eva M. Stroud, Harvey, Randolph, and Harold McCrimmon have passed on.
She was also predeceased by one sister, Emily Dorothy Hewlett and one grandson, Clifford O. McCrimmon.
She has two surviving children: Gracie M. Williams (Wayburn) of Sanford, NC, and Richard K. McCrimmon, Sr. of Cameron, NC. Rev. Addie also has eleven grandchildren, Constance McCrimmon, Andre Stroud, Phillip Stroud, Stella M. Stiff, Roy R. McCrimmon, Jr., Jermaine Williams, Richard K. McCrimmon, Jr., Brittny R. McCrimmon, Kimberly Y. Davis, and Gregory Wengler; nine great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; one granddaughter in love, Brenda L. McIver; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Arnettie McCrimmon Gore, of Fayetteville, NC; cousins, Pastor Allen McLauchlin (Norma) of Fayetteville, NC and Diane Fox, of Greensboro, NC and a host of relatives and friends.
"Family and friends will be received at 1826 Carr Creek Drive, Sanford, NC, 27330, on Saturday, February 21, 2026, and Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 3 pm to 7 pm".
