Viola (Johnson) Davis

Viola Davis, age 68 of 1301 S. Vance Street, Sanford, NC passed on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at her residence.

Mrs. Viola Johnson Davis, the daughter of the late Marie Trapp and Hurie Lee Johnson was born in Sanford NC on March 14, 1951

Viola was educated in the Lee County Public School System.  Once she completed high school she entered Job Corps in Philadelphia, Pa for retail associates.  Upon completion of Job Corps she returned to NC where she met her husband of 47 years, Edward Davis "Moby".  They were married in South Carolina on July 22, 1972.

She had a love for people and taking care of others, which lead her in the field of CNA.  After 30 plus years of service, she retired to give her unconditional love to her family and friends.  Viola will truly be missed but one thing she taught us all is to love each other and not to worry because" God got my back!"

She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Melissa and Vance Davis; four sisters, Mary Johnson, Stella Campbell, Doris Carolyn Trapp and Betty Martin; and three brothers, James R. Johnson "JR", Dickie Lane Johnson "Goatman" and James Johnson "Pig".

She leaves to cherish her memories; her husband, Edward Lewis Davis "Moby"; her children, Vernon Johnson (Pandora) of Lillington, NC, Doyle Johnson, Oscar Johnson, Orecko Johnson, Alison Davis, Linda Davis, and Destiny Freeman, and of the hone, Jeremiah and Joshua Freeman; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; her sisters, Lori Spinks (Avon), Carolyn Trapp, all of Sanford, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as other family and friends.
