Shannon Whitney Wilder

Ms. Shannon W. Wilder, age 51 of 300 Apt B. Willow Oaks Ln., Sanford, North Carolina passed on Monday, October 22, 2018 at UNC Hospital.

Shannon Whitney Wilder was born on September 6, 1967 in New York, NY to Rogene Hanks and Navarro Wilder. As a youth Shannon was a talented dancer. Shannon was always fearless and combined with her love for swimming led her into crazy adventures like swimming with Barracudas in the middle of the ocean. Her compassionate heart led her to pursuing a career as a CNA. She raised three sons. Ms. Wilder Moved to North Carolina in 2004 with hopes of changing her life but instead changed the lives of those around her.

Her family paid tribute to her, “Shannon was a one of a kind spirit, who touched the heart of all those around her”. She opened her home and heart to many and will truly be missed.

She is survived by her mother, Rogene Flores; step-father, Narciso Flores; sister, Stacey Barnwell, three sons, Shane Ellis, Chas Wilder and Trey Wilder and five grandchildren, Justin Ellis, Journey Ellis, Jacianna Sutton, Jayden Ellis and Sincere Wilder.
