Samuel Lee Covington

Samuel Lee Covington, age 68 of 2009 Woodcrest Dr., Sanford, NC passed on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Samuel Covington was born on December 16, 1950 in Dunn NC to the late Margie Covington and James Cousar. He departed this life on December 16, 2018.

He was in the Air Force and lived in various places like Maryland, Detroit, Michigan; Connecticut and North Carolina. He loved to travel and loved old school music his favorite all time group was the O'Jays, "Stairway to Heaven" and "Forever Mine", and "Brandy" to name a few. He was an avid football fan along with baseball, the Mets and Orioles were his favorite teams.

He was preceded in death by both parents; his brothers, Otis Covington and Chester Stevens; and his sisters, Yvonne Covington and Dorothy Cousar.

He is survived by his children, Trayton Covington, and Dominique Covington; brothers, Troy Covington and George McClease; sisters, Jean Becton, Stephanie Covington, Dalphine Covington, Gina McClease and Marsha McClease; three grandchildren, special brother, Willie Covington Sr. whom was a great inspiration to him throughout his life; a special niece, Gloria Jones who helped to care for him and kept him laughing; a special friend, Thomas "Tee" South who helped take care of him after his last stroke and a host of family and friends.
