Ruth Mae Calloway

 Ms. Ruth Mae Calloway, age 93 of 1769 Lobelia Rd., Vass, NC passed on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at St. Joseph of the Pines, Southern Pines, N.C..

A time to be born, Ruth Mae Cherry Calloway was born to Dan and Eliza Jane Cherry on November 1, 1924. 

A time to die, on June 17, 2018, God allowed the heavens gates to open  and God reached down plucked from his garden a beautiful and special flower, Sister Ruth Mae Cherry Calloway.

Sister Ruth Calloway attended Pinckney High School before moving to Stanford, Connecticut where she lived for 40 years.

She enjoyed going to tag sales and chewing Freedent chewing gum.

She was preceded in death by:  Husband Robert Calloway, Children:  Randy Calloway, Bobby Calloway, Larry Calloway, Ronnie Calloway and Debbie Calloway.  Brothers John Cherry, Raymond Cherry, Edward Cherry, Carl Cherry & David Cherry, sisters Alberta Cherry, Myrtle Worthy and Lucille Faulk. 

A time to Morn:   Ruth Mae Cherry Calloway, leaves to cherish her memory:  Niece/Caregiver, Lisa Chavis (Robert), three sisters;  Beatrice Perez, Vass, NC  Rosa Taylor, Southern Pines NC & Mary Clegg of Carthage, NC, one brother, Clarence Cherry (Lois) Stanford, Connecticut, 2 grandchildren, Sabrina Daraz of Los Angeles and John Glover Jr. of Stanford, Connecticut, honorary nephew, Brian Chavis.  She leaves a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
