Richard Eugene (Gene) Scurlock

Richard E. "Gene" Scurlock, age 69 of 200 Elvie Snipes Scurlock Rd., Pittsboro, NC passed on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill, NC.

Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley D. Scurlock; his brothers, Cloman Scurlock, James Reaves, Earl Reaves; sisters - Margene Scurlock, Willie Bethel and Annie Reaves.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two sons, Richard Scurlock, Jr. and  Montego Scurlock; a daughter, Marcine Scurlock;  three step daughters, Tisha Williams, Martrice Scurlock and Patrina Flood; two step sons, Wilbert  Williams (Tasha), Steven Shepard (Monica), three sons that he raised, Anthony Jefferson,  Rashiem Brown and Brent Dickerson (deceased); a brother, Wilbert Reaves (Sendy); a sister, Shirley S. Hart; 11 grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends at the home of Daniel and Janet Scurlock 185 Elvie Snipes Scurlock Rd., Pittsboro, NC
