Patsy Elizabeth (Headen) Banks was born on November 3, 1938, in Pittsboro, North Carolina, to the late Hattie Milliken Headen and Herbert Headen.  Patsy began her eternal life on February 23, 2019.

Patsy attended school in Chatham County where she graduated from Horton High School in 1956 with honors.  After graduating from high school, Patsy went on to North Carolina College in Durham, North Carolina, to pursue higher education.

Patsy moved to New York City seeking social equity and better economic opportunities in the early 1960’s. In New York, she met and married Frank B. Banks.  Their marriage produced 5 sons.
