Patsy Elizabeth (Headen) Banks

Patsy Elizabeth (Headen) Banks was born on November 3, 1938, in Pittsboro, North Carolina, to the late Hattie Milliken Headen and Herbert Headen.  Patsy began her eternal life on February 23, 2019. 

Patsy attended school in Chatham County where she graduated from Horton High School in 1956 with honors.  After graduating from high school, Patsy went on to North Carolina College in Durham, North Carolina, to pursue higher education.

Patsy moved to New York City seeking social equity and better economic opportunities in the early 1960’s. In New York, she met and married Frank B. Banks.  Their marriage produced 5 sons. After spending many years as a housewife, Patsy utilized her strong intellectual skills, quick wit and educational background in business to secure a position as a top buyer for Standard Motors Products. This was an extraordinary accomplishment.  Patsy retired from Standard Motors Products and soon after Frank passed away. Patsy relocated back to Pittsboro, North Carolina, in 1996 where she built a home and enjoyed working as retail Pacesetter at Dillards for several years. 

Patsy was preceded in death by all of her siblings: Bessie, Josie, Louise, Cleveland, Edna, Mozelle, Nellie, Alonzo, Helen, and Herbert. 

Patsy leaves to cherish her loving memories 5 sons: Frank Banks of Baldwin, New York; Nelson Timothy Banks of Lansing, Kansas; Heath Banks (Angela) of Durham, North Carolina; Gary Banks (Tyra) of Baldwin, New York; and Elliot Banks of Baldwin, New York; 16 grandchildren: Tawoine, Sean, Eliot, Tykeema, D’Aaron, Jordan, Charltina, Chelsea, Fabian, Sydney, Michael, Nina, Alexander, Megan, Jaxon, Kymora; 4 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-laws Ethel-Mae Milliken of Pittsboro, North Carolina and Linda Headen of Pittsboro, North Carolina; a special niece Ruby Scurlock of Pittsboro, North Carolina; a loving cousin Annie Lois Small of Pittsboro, North Carolina, a host of other nieces, nephews and relatives, and a very special friend.
