Mary Frances Smith

Mary Frances Smith, age 66 of 1712 Campbell Dr., Sanford, NC passed on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Central Carolina Hospital.

Mary Frances Petty Smith passed away peacefully on May 9, 2019.  She was born on April 14, 1953 to Betty Petty and the late Walter Hooker.

She attended W.B. Wicker High School and was employed at Townsend Poultry in Pittsboro, NC for numerous years.  She was also employed at Comfort Inn for over 15 years. Mary was married to Morgan Smith. She attended the Potter’s House, Sanford, NC where she received God’s word.

Mary “Rudy” was a loving mother.  She treasured her children and grandchildren.   Mary enjoyed everyone that was around her.  She would always keep you laughing, she was a giving woman.  She would give the shirt off her back if needed.  She was always willing to help family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter “Bob” Hooker and numerous siblings; and two grandchildren.

She is survived by three children, Kenneth Petty of Sanford, NC, Tabitha Smith (Aaron) of Broadway, NC and Michael Petty of Sanford, NC; her mother, Betty Wilson of Sanford, NC; six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; four brothers, Jimmy Wilson (Tracy) of Lillington, NC; Michael Hooker (Barbara), Kenny Hooker (Vanessa) and Fred Hooker (Lynn);  four sisters, Rosetta Dykes (James), Ernestine Wilson, Betty Byrd (Gerald), and Barbara McLean and siblings of the Hooker family; a special friend, Bill Crumpton and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
