Mariah Ann ("Ann M.") Washington

Mariah Ann Washington, age 77 of 17 Perry Rd., Sanford, NC passed on Friday, August 10, 2018 at her residence.

The season of life of Mariah Ann McNeill Washington was born on October 17, 1940 in Raleigh, NC to the late Elder Bran McNeill. On August 10, 2018 at approximately 1:30am, Ann departed her life.

Ann joined Union Grove United Methodist Church at an early age and was a faithful member until her health declined. Her church affiliations included:  serving as the church membership secretary, Mission Outreach, Pastor Parish Relation Committee, Board of Trustees, and served on the Kitchen Committee.

Ann received her early school training in the Harnett County Public School System and graduated from Johnsonville High School. After graduating from high school, Ann joined the workforce and worked approximately thirty years before her retirement.

Ann was married to the late Harry Washington Sr. and to this union, four children were born; Harry Christopher, Darryl and Belinda.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Washington Sr.; two sons, Harry Washington Jr. and Christopher Washington.

Ann leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Mrs. Belinda Rhodes (William) of the home; one son, Darryl Washington (Sherrie) of Charlotte, North Carolina; four grandchildren, and one great grandchild; a special aunt, Mrs. Nellie Brewington of Fayetteville, North Carolina; four sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law; special sister, Betty Pearson of Sanford, NC; and a special friend, Nancy McNeill of Broadway, NC. She also leaves a host of other relatives and special friends.
