Maggie Mae Martin

Maggie Mae Martin, age 63 of 222 Talley Ave., Sanford, NC passed on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at The Laurels of Chatham, Pittsboro, NC. 

Maggie Mae Martin “Popcorn Playa”, daughter of Bernice Allen Martin and Lannie Winston Martin was born August 15, 1955 at Lee County Hospital. Her loving life ended on August 23, 2018.

She graduated from high school and worked as a private duty nurse. She attended New Bethel FWB Church for many years until her health failed.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Allen Martin; father, Lannie Winston Martin; four sisters, Mary Martin, Mary Jane Allen, Laura Martin and Catherine McKoy; one brother, Winston Edward Martin; a nephew, Torreka Lorte Martin; and a very special friend, James Beasley.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Rhonda “Bones” Martin of Washington, DC and Fatina “Moon Moon” Martin of Sanford, NC; three grandchildren, Kharon Martin,  Queen-Aja Martin and Ja’Baree Martin; one great grandchild, Chellise Sellars; two sisters, Eva Martin and Julia Smith; three brothers, James Allen, George Lannie Martin and Alluther Allen (Jenella) of Brooklyn, New York;  two special friends, Brenda and Frank and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends at 537 Oakwood Ave., Sanford, NC
