Mr. Lonell Scriven, age 63 of 2104 S. Chatham Ave., Siler City, NC passed on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his residence.
Lonell was born in Hoke County on September 10, 1954 to the late Edward and Alberta Scriven. The Lord chose to call him to eternal rest on the morning of June 27, 2018 at his residence. Other than his parents, Lonell was preceeded in death by his wife, Mary; one sister, Hazel Campbell.
For many years Lonell attended First Church of Christ, Broadway but at a later time in his life, he and his family united and served with Deliverance Church of Christ in Siler City, NC where he enjoyed the preached word, the Gospel Choir singing and the fellowship. When he was unable to attend, he always sent his financial contributions.
Lonell’s passion was truck driving which he enjoyed and did well and supported his family well. He spent many long hours trucking and after retiring due to medical reasons, he had quite a few “truck stories” to tell. He enjoyed spending time with his family and lately his siblings celebrating birthday breakfasts, lunch or dinners. At the age of 15 years, doctors said he would not live through the night due to a serious bout of sickness. But thanks be to God, we were blessed with his presence for another 48 years!
Left to cherish Lonell’s memory is one daughter, Tiffany, of the home; two sons, Christopher and Wrally of Lillington, NC; Three Granddaughters, Amelia, Trinity and Kamaya; Three Brothers, Devone Scriven(Delois), Broadway, NC; Eddie Scriven(Norma), Siler City, NC; Earl Scriven (Dorothy), Lake Village, AK.; Four Sisters, Helen McNeil (Bishop Thurman) and Marilyn Campbell (Marvin) both of Siler City, NC; Lucille Allen(Larry), Sanford, NC and Linda Taylor of Rocky Mount, NC; Many nieces that he adored , nephews other relatives and friends.
