Lillar Gertrude Crump, age 86 of 7486 Moncure Pittsboro Rd., Moncure, NC passed on Monday, September 24, 2018 at her residence.
Lillar Gertrude Taylor Crump transitioned peacefully at home on Monday, September 24, 2018.
She was the seventh of eight children born from the union of Hal Taylor and Daisy Womble Taylor. She was born September 4, 1932, in Chatham County, North Carolina, which is where she curated a life, and raised her family for over eight decades. She married Ervin Crump on December 22, 1951, at the age of 19, and mothered five children.
Affectionally known as “Gert,” or “Crump,” by coworkers, she was employed as a factory worker by Pittsboro Poultry for twenty years, and later retired as a custodial supervisor from UNC Hospitals, in 1992, after twenty of service.
She was a lifetime member of Mt. View A.M.E. Church, but attended Liberty Chapel Church, Inc. with her daughters when her health declined.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and six of her siblings, George Taylor, Mildred Covington, Hal Taylor, Jr., Elizabeth Taylor Skeeter, Jessie Taylor, and William Taylor.
She is survived by her three daughters, Regenna Edwards, of Raleigh, North Carolina, Bettina Boylorn, of Moncure, North Carolina, and Frances Crump, of Moncure, North Carolina; two sons, Ervin Crump (Janice), of Sanford, North Carolina, and Floyd Crump (Janie) of Apex, North Carolina; sister, Daisy Denny (Lewis) of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
