Lanita Blue McCormick

Mrs. Lanita Blue McCormick, age 43 of 680 Black Rd., Cameron, NC passed on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at UNC Hospital Chapel Hill, NC. 

Mrs. Lanita Regina Blue McCormick was born on January 8th 1975 to Deaconess Lelia H. Blue and the late Charlie D. Blue.  She exchanged battle for victory on Thursday morning June 14th 2018.

Lanita was a strong and loving woman who accepted Christ at an early age.  She was a woman of few words that loved her kids and family unconditionally.  She attended New Bethel FWB Church where she was very active.  She later attended New Church of Deliverance where she worked as an Usher; she later joined The Potter’s House C.O.G.I.C. in November 1997 where she worked as a Sunday School teacher, Usher and a Youth Leader.

She was educated in the Lee County School System.  Later employed at Eagles Electric, Pac Fab, CP&L and Laurel’s of Chatham in Pittsboro, NC until her health declined.

She was preceded in death by her father,Charlie D. Blue; sibling, Me’lah LaTosha Blue; her grandparents: Rev. John H. Blue and Lula Blue.

She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted and loving husband of twenty years, Deacon Ervin B. McCormick; her children, Minister Elijah K. Blue (Mariah), Miss Nehemiah X. McCormick, TaJuanika Jenkins, Issac Barrett, Deyonta and Detravious Clegg; honorary daughter, Charmaine Williams whom she loved as her own; seven grandchildren, Jabriel, Tijon, NaZhariah, Davion, Julionna, Tamia and Melah Grace due to arrive October 2018; two sisters, Pastor Toi Blue-Ray (Deacon William A. Ray), and Minister Sonya D. Blue; four brothers, Mr. Freddie Allen, Bishop Dr. Grant A. Blue (Pastor Dr. Joyce A. Blue), Mr. Derek L. Blue (Adrienne), Mr. Christopher L. Blue (Rosa);  her in-laws, Bishop Jimmy Pearson (Janie), Mrs. Linda Smith (Willie), Minister Vickie Richmond (Eric), Pastor Karen McDougald, Mrs. Julia McLauglin, Mrs. Angela Patterson (Marshall), Mr. Darryl Buie, Mr. Ricky Buie (Crystal), Angela White, Esther Clegg, Gerald Pearson, Alexander McIver and Myrtle Ingram; seven aunts, three uncles and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
