Mr. Kenneth Staton, age 53 of 220 Pine Knot Lane, Graham, NC, formally of Taylors Chapel, NC, passed on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, NC.
Kenneth “Kenny” Fritzgerald Staton was born May 13, 1966, fifth child to William Louis Staton and Lessie Goldston Staton. On September 9, 2019, he quietly departed and left a void in the hearts of many.
He joined Taylors Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and was a member of the Male Chorus & Usher Board. He attended schools in Chatham County.
Kenny was a jack of all trades. He was a skilled construction worker, handy man, grill master, plumber & painter. He was a fierce competitor and loved playing horseshoes, cornhole, pool, fishing & basketball.
He was well known for his hilarious antics and jokes. The title of “comedian & actor” was more than deserving as Kenny participated in many church plays and events.
Kenny joined Glorious Praise Cathedral (G.P.C) on May 2, 2010. He was ordained as a Deacon in 2018. He was also a member of the usher board, Mass Choir and sound department.
On April 23, 2016 he married his angel, Pamela Vazquez. They were married 3 years. They enjoyed spending quality time together, eating at his favorite restaurant and sightseeing around town.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Staton and Toni Staton.
Kenny leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Pamela Staton; eight children: Kenecia Staton, Qualeya Staton, Shaquelia Staton, Martha Glover-Wade, Kenneth Staton Jr (KJ), Michael Staton, Rayna Mendoza & Chasity Mendoza; parents, William & Lessie Staton; six grandchildren, Kimaiyah Farrar, Izaeyah Headen, Jaycian Farrar, Davion Staton, Yalize Staton, Aireas Staton; one brother, Rev. Eugene Staton (Annette); one sister, Wonda Staton; sister in laws, Peaches Staton, Brenda Harris (Rick), Angela, Chaiva Jennings (Kevin); brother in laws, Reginald Petty (Ramona) & Anthony Jones; mother in law, Mattie Burnside (Larry); godmothers, Zena Degraffenreid & Emma McIver. Kenny had a host of nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles, cousins and friends that will always cherish the memories of having him in their lives.
The family will receive friends at the home of his parents, William & Lessie Staton at 919 Mays Chapel Rd. Bear Creek, NC.
